Charlotte, N.C. (March 11, 2013) - Charlotte Lacrosse LLC announced details today of a partnership between Providence Day School and the Charlotte Hounds.
Mosack Field at Overcash Stadium will serve as the Official Practice Facility of the Charlotte Hounds. Completely renovated in 2012, Overcash Stadium features Mosack Field, the Compton Track, seating capacity for 1,500 spectators and the Charger Pavilion for concessions. The new Providence Day School Field House features the Nix Family Press Box, meeting space, team locker rooms and a strength and conditioning room.
In addition to hosting a portion of Training Camp and Regular Season practices, Providence Day School will work closely with the Hounds to provide training, education and support to its students, athletes and community via lacrosse clinics, roundtable discussions, speaking engagements, fundraising and awareness campaigns.
"We are extremely excited to partner with Providence Day School, on and off the field. Overcash Stadium is arguably one of the finest high school athletic facilities in NC," said Jim McPhilliamy, Hounds President and Managing Partner. “Our players are the best in the world at lacrosse but a majority of them have careers outside of Major League Lacrosse. Sharing their unique experiences and a combo of determination, academics and athletics with the students and athletes will be invaluable.”
"We are proud to welcome the Charlotte Hounds to the Providence Day School family. It's an exciting collaboration between two programs that are both dedicated to excellence. We look forward to a great partnership that extends beyond the playing field,” added Dr. Glyn Cowlishaw, Head of School.
